A Bit About Me

I'm from a family of antiques dealers. My grandfather specialised in French furniture after serving aboard a Free French battleship as a British Liaison Officer in WW2. His brother, Ronald A Lee, built a substantial reputation as a dealer in early pendulum clocks. It all started with their father, Henry Morton Lee, Barber by Royal Appointment to King George V. Not happy with cutting the hair of gentry, he switched to selling them antiques instead!

A brief outline of how I got into horology

"2012 to present

2012 - 2016

1982 - 2012

I have had a business repairing and restoring pocket watches for a number of years, starting as a hobby and becoming full-time after moving to our present address in North Yorkshire

Various jobs while deciding where to live in Yorkshire. Working as a fitter in a factory building un-manned submarine vehicles, as a fitter in a factory making the equipment that makes tin cans, as a team leader for a confidential rubber project, and as a delivery driver and partner at Waitrose

Many years fitting out the engineering of yachts and motor boats on the South Coast, working for Halmatic, Northshore Yachts, Westerly Yachts and finally Oyster Yachts. Also a period as a fitter/engineer with Fischer Panda generators
